Linking an Account

OAuth-Based Platforms (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.)

Most platforms use OAuth authentication:

  2. Find the platform you want to connect
  3. Click"Link Account"
  4. You'll be redirected to the platform's authorization page
  5. Sign in with your credentials
  6. Review and grant the requested permissions
  7. You'll be redirected back to AgencyAccess
  8. The account will appear as connected

Important:

  • Make sure you're signing in with the account you want to use for client access requests
  • Grant all requested permissions for full functionality
  • Some platforms may require additional setup (e.g., Meta Business Manager)

Manual Entry Platforms

Some platforms require manual information entry:

Twitter

  1. Click"Link Account"for Twitter
  2. Enter your Twitter handle or name
  3. Submit the form

  2. Enter your Pinterest Business ID
  3. Submit the form

  3. Submit the form

  3. Submit the form

Managing Multiple Accounts

If your plan supports it, you can link multiple accounts of the same platform type:

  1. After linking your first account, you'll see an"Add Account"button
  2. Click"Add Account"to link another account of the same type
  3. Complete the OAuth or manual entry process
  4. All linked accounts will be listed under the platform

Account Limits: The number of accounts you can link depends on your subscription plan. Free plans have limited connections.

Account Settings

Some platforms offer additional settings:

Google Account Settings

For Google accounts, you can configure Google My Business (GMB) settings:

  1. Find your connected Google account
  2. Click the"Settings"button
  3. Configure:
  • GMB ID: Enter your Google My Business account ID
  • Use Google My Business ID: Enable this to request GMB ID access instead of email access
  1. Click"Save Changes"

When creating an access link that includes Google Ads, you can choose between two methods. Both are available as separate services in the service picker when setting up an invite.

The email method sends an invitation directly to the client's Google Ads account.

  1. When creating an access link, select"Google Ads"as a service
  2. Choose an access level:
  • Admin: Full access to the account
  • Standard: Can manage campaigns but not account settings
  • Read Only: View-only access
  • Email Only: Receives email reports only
  1. The client will receive an email invitation and must accept it to grant access

This method is best when you want to be added to a client's account directly.

The MCC method links a client's account to your Google Ads Manager Account (MCC), which is the traditional agency workflow.

Agency side (creating the invite):

  1. When creating an access link, select"Google Ads MCC"as a service
  2. Select which of your Manager Accounts to use from the dropdown (these are fetched automatically from your linked Google account)

Client side (completing the invite):

  1. The client signs in with their Google account
  2. Their Google Ads accounts are listed automatically — they select which account(s) to grant access to
  3. The platform links the selected account(s) to your MCC automatically via the Google Ads API

The client does not need to manually provide their CID or accept a separate invitation — it's all handled within the access link flow.

Choosing Between Methods

  • You choose the methodper-invite— no global configuration needed
  • You can use MCC for some clients and email for others
  • Both methods can be used in the same access link alongside other Google services (Analytics, Tag Manager, etc.)

Refreshing Account Access

If your account access has expired or you need to refresh permissions:

  1. Find the account you want to refresh
  2. Click the"Refresh"button (available for Google and Meta)
  3. Complete the OAuth flow again
  4. Your access will be updated

Note: Refreshing doesn't disconnect your account; it just updates the access tokens.

Unlinking an Account

To disconnect an account from AgencyAccess:

  1. Find the account you want to unlink
  2. Click"Unlink"
  3. Review the warning message:
  • Any pending access links using this account will no longer function
  • This includes static links
  • If you just need to refresh access, use the Refresh button instead
  1. Confirm by clicking"Unlink account"

Important:

  • Unlinking an account will break any active or pending access links that use it
  • Static links that reference this account will stop working
  • You can always re-link the account later, but clients will need to grant access again

Account Status Indicators

  • Connected: Account is linked and ready to use (green checkmark)
  • Not Connected: Account hasn't been linked yet
  • Multiple Accounts: Number of linked accounts shown (e.g., "3 accounts")

Platform-Specific Requirements

Google

  • Requires OAuth consent
  • Supports multiple accounts
  • Can configure GMB settings
  • Google Ads supports two access methods: email invitations or MCC linking (seeGoogle Ads Access Methods)

Meta (Facebook/Instagram)

  • Requires Business Manager access for some features
  • Supports multiple accounts
  • Can refresh access

Shopify

  • Requires Shopify Partner status
  • Access is requested through partner program

HubSpot

  • Requires HubSpot Partner status
  • Must provide valid partner link

Troubleshooting

Account Won't Connect

Issue: OAuth flow fails or redirects incorrectly

Solutions:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser
  • Check that you're using the correct account credentials
  • Ensure pop-up blockers are disabled
  • Contact support if the issue persists

Account Shows as Connected But Doesn't Work

Issue: Account appears connected but access requests fail

Solutions:

  • Click "Refresh" to update access tokens
  • Verify permissions were granted correctly
  • Check if the account has the necessary access levels
  • For Google, verify GMB settings if using Google My Business

Reached Account Limit

Issue: Cannot link more accounts

Solutions:

  • Upgrade your subscription plan for more connections
  • Unlink unused accounts to free up slots
  • Contact support to discuss your needs

Platform-Specific Issues

Google:

  • Ensure you're using a Google account with appropriate permissions
  • For GMB, verify the GMB ID is correct

Meta:

  • Ensure Business Manager is set up correctly
  • Verify you have admin access to the Business Manager

Shopify/HubSpot:

  • Confirm you have partner status
  • Verify partner links are correct and active

Best Practices

  1. Link Only What You Need: Only connect accounts you'll actually use to avoid clutter
  2. Use Business Accounts: For platforms like Meta and Google, use business accounts when possible
  3. Keep Access Fresh: Refresh accounts periodically to ensure tokens don't expire
  4. Document Account Purposes: If you have multiple accounts, note which clients they're for
  5. Regular Audits: Periodically review and unlink unused accounts

Account Security

  • AgencyAccess uses industry-standard OAuth technology
  • We never store your passwords
  • Access tokens are encrypted and stored securely
  • You can revoke access at any time by unlinking accounts
  • All OAuth flows use secure HTTPS connections

Next Steps

After connecting your accounts:

  1. Set up your branding (if on a premium plan)
  2. Create your first client
  3. Create your first access link
  4. Explore static links for reusable invitations
